C-MATRIX is an FRCM (Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Matrix) masonry strengthening system, also suitable for low-thickness interventions (minimum 8 mm) to prevent out-of-plane overturning of secondary structures.
Applied using a “fresh-on-fresh” technique, it employs dry or pre-impregnated glass or carbon fiber meshes combined with an inorganic matrix based on cementitious or NHL lime mortars. Bond performance between reinforcement and matrix can be further enhanced through the use of a water-based adhesion promoter.
Full-surface application ensures effective protection against out-of-plane collapse mechanisms by connecting infill panels to the load-bearing frame.
In addition, the Italian ReLUIS Guidelines (Chapter 4) allow for localized interventions limited to junctions (slab-to-wall and wall-to-wall) and façade applications, through the installation of perimeter bands fixed to the structural frame, with a minimum height of 50 cm, designed to restrain the panel at both top and bottom.
C-MATRIX systems are CE marked.
