C-MATRIX is the innovative low-thickness FRCM – Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Matrix – reinforcement system that combines the use of AR glass or carbon fiber meshes with inorganic mortar matrices:
The FRCM reinforcement facing technique is the ideal solution for:
The C-MATRIX consolidation system (for seismic improvement, for consolidation and for low thickness anti-overturning protection) involves the application of AR glass fibre or carbon fibre meshes combined with lime or cement-based mortars and a highly effective bonding agent. The application is carried out ‘fresh on fresh’, producing a total plaster thickness of approximately 1 cm.

Solution
C-MATRIX is the result of a combination of AR glass or carbon fiber meshes with reinforcement functions and inorganic mortar or lime-based matrices. Adhesion between the reinforcement and the matrix is improved by applying a water-based, breathable and compatible bonding agent.
The uniqueness of the system lies in the high matrix-reinforcement adhesion that guarantees mechanical performance superior to common FRCMs. The benefits offered by C-MATRIX are greater shear strength of masonry and load-bearing capacity of columns and pillars, better redistribution of stresses with a consequent increase in ductility of the reinforced element, as well as a high capacity to dissipate energy in the event of an earthquake or other cyclical loads.
The benefits offered by C-MATRIX on the reinforcement of vaults are increased strength of the structure, better redistribution of stresses with a consequent increase in ductility of the reinforced element without increments on permanent loads and global-structure stiffness.
Application is “fresh on fresh” with a maximum thickness of 1 cm. Particularly recommended for vaults in “camorcanna” (barrel-supported plaster) or “in folio” vaults (single depth bricks) with frescoes on the intrados, thanks to the high breathability, material compatibility and non-invasiveness of the application.
