The RETICOLA system consists in the realisation of a reinforced repointing of masonry joints in those walls to be maintained with its original exposed (not plastered) appearance, by means of stainless steel strands and connectors positioned underneath the joint.
Reinforced repointing is the solution for improving the mechanical characteristics of “exposed” masonry as it provides an effective confinement and improvement of mechanical strength, without compromising the aesthetic appearance and typicality of the wall; this type of reinforcement application improves shear and compressive strengths and provides a significant increase in ductility.
This is particularly important on historic masonry buildings where the presence of multiple poorly connected faces, the low quality of the mortars and the need to preserve the architectural appearance of the structure, require highly effective but low impact structural reinforcement solutions.

The compatibility with NHL lime mortars and natural materials, together with the reversibility and ‘invisibility’ of the application, allow it to be effectively used on walls and facades subject to architectural restrictions without compromising their characteristic aesthetics.

The RETICOLA system, based on the ReticolatusTM technique, consists in the realisation of a reinforced repointing of mortar joints between the stone or brick elements constituting the masonry, by means of special stainless steel strands and connectors, specifically designed and sized for the specific use.
The RETICOLA TWIN system consists of reinforced repointing of joints on both faces of the masonry panel by means of stainless steel strands and connectors positioned underneath the joint. The so created three-dimensional reinforcement makes it possible to improve the shear, flexural and compressive strengths of the masonry while maintaining its aesthetic appearance.
The RETICOLA PLUS system is a further evolution of the RETICOLA system and foresees the realisation of a reinforced repointing of joints on the wall to be left exposed and the application of a reinforced plaster with GFRP preformed meshes on the opposite wall to be plastered. The three-dimensional reinforcement created makes it possible to improve the shear, flexural and compressive strengths of the masonry while maintaining its aesthetic appearance.
