The majority of existing reinforced concrete structures have masonry infill walls made of semi-solid or hollow bricks, which due to their low flexural strength, can result in out-of-plane displacements during a seismic event.
In the following, we address both a numerical study and a verification procedure for out-of-plane behavior of infill walls, both for unreinforced walls and walls reinforced with composite materials.
